As part of the Indy Racing League's enhanced pre-race festivities for the 2003 season, League officials have announced a partnership with Chicago-based Klein Tools making the company's dazzling Klein Tools Air Show the Official Air Show of the Indy Racing League and an integral part of the League's entertainment for fans at select races.

Premier aerobatics pilot Michael Mancuso, in association with Klein Tools, has performed at major air shows and other special events throughout North America. Flying the Klein Tools Extra 300L aerobatics aircraft, Mancuso, who has been an aerobatic pilot for more than 15 years, entertains fans with precision flying and thrilling routines.

"This is an exciting opportunity for Klein Tools," said Richard T. Klein Jr., Klein Tools chairman and CEO. "Michael Mancuso puts on an outstanding performance, and our air shows have been a tremendous success in the past. We are pleased to be able to partner with the IRL, and together we will provide even more excitement for the many IRL fans."

The Klein Tools Air Show is the newest addition to the Indy Racing League's one-hour, pre-race program and is part of an overall strategy to elevate the entertainment and fan experience at all League events. The pre-race show includes the Schlatter two-man, precision skydive team flying a large American and IRL flag, military aircraft flyovers, the Firestone Firehawk mascot, pyrotechnics, and driver and dignitary introductions as part of the excitement leading up to the command "Start Your Engines."

"The Klein Tools Air Show and the entire pre-race entertainment spectacle is designed to provide fans with a fun prelude to the wheel-to-wheel excitement of Indy Racing League IndyCar Series racing," said Bill Long, vice president of marketing, Indy Racing League.

Since 1994, Klein Tools has used its motorsports sponsorship to increase the company's exposure as a leading producer of quality products preferred by professionals and was a sponsor of the 1995 Indianapolis 500-winning entry driven by Jacques Villeneuve.

For 2003, the company has increased its presence in motorsports as a key partner of Andretti Green Racing in the IndyCar Series. As a major sponsor, the company's logo will be predominantly displayed on the Klein Tools/Jim Beam entry that will debut at this year's Indianapolis 500 with driver Dan Wheldon. The Klein Tools logo also is displayed on the cars and uniforms of Team 7-Eleven drivers Michael Andretti and Tony Kanaan.

Klein Tools' motorsports sponsorship also has led to the development of products specifically designed for the racing industry, including spark plug pliers and protective wheel gun covers now used by Indy Racing League and selected sports car teams.
