Unable to tie up a deal with an existing team without the help of sponsorship dollars, Sarah Fisher has admitted that she may attempt to field her own car in next year's Indycar Series.

With no plan to return to Dreyer & Reinbold Racing unless either party can land a backer to help massage a deal, Fisher told the Indianapolis Star newspaper that she could explore the possibility of going it alone in order to remain involved.

"We said we'd talk about an opportunity if there was one, but there's none right now," she said of her attempts to find the funds to remain at D&R, ""There are people interested in selling [the Sarah Fisher Racing] story and Dallara said we could have a car in seven or eight days, but, again, it depends on sponsorships."

Fisher said that she would continue to pursue other Indycar openings, but hopes to be out at Indianapolis one way or another.
