Mario Dominguez has welcomed the announcement that the Champ Car World Series is to amend the Power-to-Pass rules for the season final in Mexico City.

The Pacific Coast Motorsport driver will be chasing a solid finish to the season on home soil in the event next month, while also trying to bring the curtain down on the team's debut season in Champ Car with the best result possible.

As well as home support, Dominguez will also benefit from the fact that the Power-to-Pass button will now provide drivers with an extra 100 horsepower on top as opposed to the 50 horsepower that has been in place throughout the season, and the Mexican admitted that he expected it to improve the spectacle and the racing for drivers and fans alike.

"I'm sure I'm not alone among the drivers in welcoming a boost in horsepower," he said. "It will be particularly interesting in Mexico City, where our fans love fast cars and the circuit features a long straightaway and several interesting twists and turns that should offer plenty of opportunities for drivers to make a run at cars in front of them.

"It should be a blast!"
