Despite only returning to the Champ Car World Series at the previous meeting at Surfers Paradise, Nelson Philippe says that his focus is firmly on the podium positions as he prepares for the final round of the season in Mexico City this coming weekend.

On his first outing at the wheel of the Panoz DP01 chassis, Philippe finished inside the top six in Australia after being called into the Conquest Racing team and he will now hope to impress again in Mexico City - where a solid result could go some way towards finding a full-time drive for 2008.

"As always, I'm thrilled to be back in Mexico as this will once again feel like my home race," he said. "I came here a month ago and did lots of media for Champ Car and found myself having a great time with all my Mexican friends. After coming off a positive result in Surfers, I am very excited about getting on track on Friday. The Conquest Racing Team has a great road course car and I am eager to see how the DP01 will react when I throw it around the esses of the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez! We will only be satisfied with a podium finish in the race and that will be our goal all weekend.

"Even though I may have missed almost the whole season, I feel up to speed and confident that I can bring the guys another trophy. I am also looking forward to the 100HP Power to Pass for this race, I am sure it will bring lots of excitement for fans as well as drivers with many more passing opportunities!"
