Oriol Servia paid tribute to his PKV team for giving him a car with the potential of helping him go quicker on a Mexico City circuit he admits he does not normally go well on.

Having marked his debut for the team in Australia by claiming a spot on the front row of the grid, Servia just missed out on repeating that feat this time, the Spaniard settling for fourth place.

Nonetheless, Servia, who lies ninth in the standings but is just eight points behind fifth, was pleased with his performance and the set-up of his car on a circuit he claims to not enjoy.

"I am actually very happy with the qualifying performance of the Pay By Touch PKV Racing team today," he said. "As I have said since the beginning of the weekend, I don't do very well at this track, but the team gave me a great car.

"I think in Australia I was giving a little more than the car had, but here the car is giving more than I am, so I am very happy qualifying third today and starting fourth. We need to finish this weekend, and the season on a high note, but I am just happy with the work we have done so far."
