Forsythe Championship Racing has confirmed the re-signing of James Hinchcliffe for the 2008 Champ Car Atlantic Series campaign.

The 21-year-old will return to the team who gave him his debut in the series back in 2006, with the youngster celebrating his rookie campaign with a win at Portland en-route to tenth in the standings.

Last season, Hinchcliffe moved on to Sierra Sierra Enterprises and - although unable to add to his win tally - improved on his championship position to end the year in fourth place, with three pole positions and five podium finishes.

"I'm obviously really excited to be back with Forsythe Championship Racing," Hinchcliffe reflected on the new of his return. "When I joined the team in 2006, we always said it would be a two year plan. It has just taken us three years to pull it off! I improved a lot in 2007 with Sierra Sierra Enterprises, and I know that they will be super competitive this season so I am really looking forward to the challenge of fighting with them for the championship.

"To be back with Forsythe is awesome, the atmosphere is so great and I have already enjoyed working with the team and David on making us as competitive as possible."

Hinchliffe will team up with David Garza for the new season in a two-car team and team manager John Brunner said he was thrilled to have the Canadian back in his line-up.

"We are obviously very pleased to have James returning to Forsythe Championship Racing," he said. "We had success together in 2006 and with his growth as a driver and ours as a team, we feel that we are now ready to make a serious run at the 2008 championship."
