2013 Indy 500: Starting grid
Ed Carpenter will lead the field to the green flag in the 2013 Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 26 with rookie Carlos Munoz alongside him on the front row.
Another rookie, AJ Allmendinger (Penske) makes it onto the second row, while the other two rookie hopefuls - Tristan Vautier (Schmid-Peterson) and Conor Daly (AJ Foyt Racing) -both successfully make it into their first Indy 500.
Two last minute entries for the race - Lazier Partners' Buddy Lazier and Schmidt-Peterson's Katherine Legge - both make it onto the back row of the 33-car grid, while Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing's Michael Jourdain Jr. loses out and goes home early after the team failed to find a set-up that made the #17 car work sufficiently to allow the Mexican to even attempt a high-speed qualifying run on Bump Day.
