Britain's Allan McNish will start the fifth and final round of the Le Mans Endurance Series from the second row of the 34-car grid at the Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey.

Signaling what will be the final race of the immensely successful Audi R8 in Europe, McNish is hoping to give the five time Le Mans winning car a fitting send off from fourth on the grid, although he admits it will be hard to maintain pace with their rivals around the high speed circuit.

"I'm very happy with a second row start," confirmed McNish. "We have a good race set-up and perhaps with the likely changeable weather conditions, the Audi could sign off in style despite its handicaps compared with the newer, lighter and faster cars we're up against."

McNish will race with Frenchman St?phane Ortelli, with the duo aiming to emulate their Silverstone triumph earlier this year.
