Chad Reed claimed his third AMA Supercross victory from four starts after triumphing over Kevin Windham at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, on Saturday night.

Yamaha mounted Reed won the Butterfinger Holeshot Award with Honda's hero Windham close behind as they exited turn one. Throughout the race the two then passed each another several times - much to the delight of the 61,000 fans - before Reed made the decisive move on lap 14.

"I saw the halfway mark of the race and had to start making my move," explained the Australian. "I knew I had to make my move, but needed to be patient. I followed Kevin around and learned a lot from his lines."

Meanwhile, in the 125cc West class Kawasaki's Ivan Tedesco continued his perfect season so far to claim his fourth victory in a row.

Honda's Greg Schnell had taken the Holeshot Award at the start of the 125cc main, with Kawasaki's Stephane Roncada following close behind. By the completion of lap one, Roncada had moved into the lead and was in with a great chance of his first win of the season, since Tedesco had gained only a mid pack start.

However, Ivan carved through the field to take second place on lap six, then passed Roncada for the lead on lap eight. On the same lap, Honda's Nathan Ramsey passed Roncada for second and Travis Preston moved into third.
