Marc VDS looks set to turn down Yamaha and Honda in favour of becoming Suzuki's first satellite MotoGP team.

That's according to Speedweek.com, which adds that the Belgian squad will get a three-year deal and receive the latest specification GSX-RRs from 2019.

The Marc VDS partnership could be one of two Suzuki deals announced at this weekend's COTA round, with Alex Rins thought to have concluded a new factory Suzuki contract on the back of his debut podium last time in Argentina.

The identity of the second factory Suzuki rider for 2019 is less certain, amid rumours surrounding the future of triple MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, should the VDS-Suzuki partnership be confirmed, Yamaha would need to look at the likes of Avintia and Aspar if they are to find a new satellite team to replace Tech3.
