Five times MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi is scheduled to make his 100th appearance in the premier-class at Turkey this weekend.

The Italian superstar has not missed a race since making his debut in the category at the first race of the 2000 season, in South Africa.

Five times MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi is scheduled to make his 100th appearance in the premier-class at Turkey this weekend.

The Italian superstar has not missed a race since making his debut in the category at the first race of the 2000 season, in South Africa.

Here are some of the highlights of Rossi's premier class career:

Race number 1. (2000/South Africa/Welkom - DNF) Rossi's debut ended with a crash on lap 13 after showing his potential by setting the fastest lap of the race while battling through the field from a bad start.

2. (2000/Malaysia/Sepang - DNF) Crashed out for a second successive race - this time on lap four while in second place.

3. (2000/Japan/Suzuka - 11th) Scored his first points in the premier-class with a cautious ride to eleventh place.

9. (2000/GB/Donington - 1st) Scored his first premier-class victory at in a wet race. This was also the first time that any rider had won in all three classes at Donington.

17. (2001/Japan/Suzuka - 1st) Won the opening race of the 2001 season to take the 500th Grand Prix victory for Honda.

18. (2001/South Africa/Welkom - 1st) Rossi starts from pole in the premier-class for the first time and completes the set by setting a new lap record on the way to victory.

19. (2001/Spain/Jerez - 1st) Won his third successive race to become the first rider since Mick Doohan in 1992 to win the opening three races of the year in the premier-class and the first rider to score race wins in all three classes at Jerez.

22. (2001/Catalunya - 1st) Rossi wins the Catalan GP to become the first rider to take race victories in all three classes at the Catalunya circuit.

26. (2001/Czech/Brno - 1st) By winning the MotoGP race at Brno Rossi became the first rider to win in all three classes at the Czech circuit.

30. (2001/Australia/Phillip Island - 1st) Rossi clinches his first premier-class world title by winning one of the closest races of all time with less than one second covering the top four riders across the line. Rossi is only the second rider to win the 125cc, 250cc and 500cc world titles, the other being Phil Read.

32. (2001/Brazil/Rio - 1st) The eleventh win of the year for Rossi. Only Doohan in 1997 has scored more victories in a single season.

33. (2002/Japan/Suzuka - 1st) Rossi wins the first ever race under the new MotoGP rules, riding a 990cc Honda.

37. (2002/Italy/Mugello - 1st) Rossi takes his first premier-class race on home soil to become the first rider to win in all three classes at the Mugello circuit.

41. (2002/Germany/Sachsenring - 1st) Clinches his seventh consecutive victory which is Rossi's longest string of wins.

44. (2002/Brazil/Rio - 1st) Claims the first ever MotoGP title with four races left in the season.

47. (2002/Australia/Phillip Island - 1st) For the second successive year Rossi scores eleven victories in a single season.

48. (2002/Valencia/Ricardo Tormo - 2nd) Sets a new record for total number of points achieved in the premier-class in a single season with 355.

60. (2003/Brazil/Rio - 1st) Scores his 50th podium finish in the premier-class in only 60 starts.

62. (2003/Malaysia/Sepang - 1st) Clinches his third premier-class title with victory at Sepang.

64. (2003/Valencia/Ricardo Tormo - 1st) Rossi sets a new record for the premier-class of 16 podium finishes in a single season and a new record points' total of 357.

65. (2004/South Africa/Welkom - 1st) By winning his first race riding a Yamaha, Rossi becomes the first rider to win back-to-back premier-class races on bikes from different manufacturers and also sets a new record of 23 consecutive podium finishes.

79. (2004/Australia/Phillip Island - 1st) Secures his fourth premier-class title with victory in Australia to become only the second rider ever to win back-to-back titles on bikes from different manufacturers, the other being Eddie Lawson.

80. (2004/Valencia/Ricardo Tormo - 1st) Rossi wins for the ninth time in 2004, more victories in a season than any other Yamaha rider has ever achieved in the premier-class.

87. (2005/Dutch TT/Assen - 1st) By winning the Dutch TT Rossi becomes the first Yamaha rider to win five successive races in the premier-class.

93. (2005/Malaysia/Sepang - 2nd) Clinches his 5th premier-class title by finishing second in Malaysia.

97. (2005/Valencia/Ricardo Tormo - 3rd) Rossi finished third at the final race of 2005 to set another new record total of 367 points for the season.

98. (2006/Spain/Jerez - 14th) After crashing at the first corner Rossi remounts his machine and finishes 14, his lowest ever point scoring finish in the premier-class.

99. (2006/Qatar/Losail - 1st) Rossi wins in Qatar to equal Doohan's 54 premier-class victories; only Giacomo Agostini has taken more victories in the premier-class with 68.
