Tech 3 boss Herve Poncharal calls for Stefano Manzi to be penalised after the first turn incident with Julian Simon in Sunday's Austin Moto2 race. Simon was himself replacing the injured Remy Gardner, who had been taken down on the opening lap in the two previous events:

"Unfortunately, the bike has not finished one lap in any of the three GPs so far. This time it was Manzi who hit Julian, and I think that this is dangerous and for me, he should be penalised. The bike is destroyed, Julian could have been badly injured, and we all know that races cannot be won at the first corner.

"I am sorry for the entire crew, but things will turn around. Remy will hopefully be fit and we hope that Europe will be more positive for bike number two.

"I have to give Julian a very special and big thank you for his professionalism and his speed on the track. I think a point scoring finish would have possible, but he was unfortunately taken out. Julian’s attitude was perfect and he gave us some really important information, so I want to thank him again for replacing Remy."

Marquez: "It was a difficult race. At the beginning I tried to stay calm. I didn't use the hard front tyre since Friday. At the beginning it was chattering. I was able to be consistent until the end. After Argentina it looks really far but we are there."

Rossi: "It was a difficult race. I could stay close to the Hondas. Sometimes I lost a bit but there were points that I was strong. I knew Dani was at the limit with the front. I am very happy with the job. It's my best result in Austin!"

Pedrosa after his 1st podium of the year: "I'm very happy because I did a good start. I'm quite happy with my riding. Toward the end I tried to keep 2nd but the right side of the front tyre was completely gone. I was happy to finish on the podium because we made quite a big step."
