After losing out on track time during days one (weather) and two (a crash) at the final pre-season Moto2 test, reigning 125cc world champion Marc Marquez put in 40 final day laps at Jerez - the best of which put the young Spaniard second overall.

The next time Marquez climbs on his Catalunya Caixa Repsol (Suter) will be for opening practice at round one of the 2011 world championship, at Losail in Qatar next week.

"I think we can be satisfied with the work we have done. We achieved the objectives we set ourselves every day and that is the most important thing," said Marquez.

"The overall assessment of this pre-season is clearly positive. I feel ever more comfortable on the bike and, although we still have a lot of work to do, I want to thank all the team members for the great job they are doing.

"This morning we were finally able to enjoy better conditions. We set a good time, although that was not our main aim. About the long runs, we can also be satisfied, as we have been fairly consistent.

"At Qatar everything will be different as it will be a race weekend, as it is a completely new circuit for me with the Moto2. We will see there how things really go".

Viessmann Kiefer Racing (Kalex) rider Stefan Bradl was the only person quicker than Marquez at Jerez, the German finishing 0.283sec ahead.
