Early rain left 125cc World Championship leader Nico Terol unchallenged for much of Friday's second practice session in Catalunya.

Terol, whose perfect start to 2011 ended when he was overtaken at the final turn of the French Grand Prix by Maverick Vinales, had done five laps - and was fastest by 0.793sec over Sandro Cortese - when light rain arrived.

That put an end to any improvements and confirmed 16-year-old rookie Vinales - who fell in the final ten minutes - in third place, with Johann Zarco the top non-Aprilia in fourth.

Terol had also been fastest in the dry first practice session, with Cortese again best of the rest, 0.467sec behind the Aspar rider.
