Yuki Takahashi will switch to the Forward Racing (Suter) team for the third season of Moto2, in 2012.

The Japanese, who raced a partial MotoGP season in 2009, joined Tech 3 for the inaugural Moto2 Championship in 2010, when he took one race win.

Takahashi then moved to defending champion's Gresini Moriwaki for this season, but took just two podiums on his way to eleventh in the championship.

The 27-year-old will ride alongside another new Forward signing, and former MotoGP rider, Alex de Angelis.

"I'm really excited about joining the NGM Mobile Forward Racing Team in Moto2," said Takahashi. "It represents a new challenge to me because everything changes: team, bike and chassis.

"My goal is to win the Championship. Forward Racing and Suter have shown to be competitive during the previous two seasons and I'll give 100% to reach our objective."

Jules Cluzel won a Moto2 race for Forward during 2010, but was only 21st overall this season.

"I'm very glad we reached an agreement with Yuki for the next season," said sporting dirctor Marco Curioni. "We are convinced that our technical material and the support from Suter will permit us to fight constantly for the positions on the top of the timesheets and I'm really looking forward to see him and Alex fighting for the win and podiums at every single race.

"Yuki is not just an extraordinary professional rider but as well an easy-going, down to earth person and I think it will be a pleasure to work with him. He definitely is the right person in the right place."

Forward racing will also enter MotoGP next season, running a Suter-BMW CRT bike for Colin Edwards.
