You voted Dani Pedrosa fifth in the MotoGP Rider of the Year poll, making him the lowest ranked of the (four) 2011 race winners, with an average score of 7.24 out of 10.

Pedrosa took three wins, nine podiums and two poles during the 2011 season, in which he once again had to overcome injury adversity. The Spaniard finished 3rd and 2nd in the opening rounds, then underwent surgery to cure numbness following a left collarbone fracture late last year.

A perfect return saw victory in Estoril, but his title hopes all but ended when he clashed with Marco Simoncelli next time at Le Mans - inflicting a right collarbone fracture, which forced Pedrosa to miss three events.

Pedrosa won twice after his return, but a loss of pace when rain intensified in the Valencia finale cost him the chance to take third in the championship from team-mate Andrea Dovizioso.

2011 was Pedrosa's sixth season at Repsol Honda. He will remain with the factory Honda squad, alongside world champion Casey Stoner, in 2012.'s MotoGP Rider of the Year 2011:
5. Dani Pedrosa 7.24
6. Andrea Dovizioso 7.07
7. Alvaro Bautista 6.81
8. Colin Edwards 6.20
9. Nicky Hayden 6.00
10. Valentino Rossi 5.96
