Andrea Iannone injured his left arm after unseen 'contact' from MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez caused him to fall during the wet FP2 session at Sepang in Malaysia on Friday.

Iannone was already sore after hitting the back of Marquez's Repsol Honda team-mate Dani Pedrosa last Sunday in Australia, but said the Spaniard had admitted fault for Friday's incident at the final turn.

Iannone suffered 'a severe contusion in the muscle' but will try and ride tomorrow after treatment from the Clinica Mobile.

"This morning I decided to start cautiously because of the pain that I have in the hip [from Phillip Island]. I struggled to ride and I could not lean especially on the right side," said Iannone. "Unfortunately, at the start of FP2 it started to rain not allowing me to improve.

"Regarding the contact with Marquez, I do not know what to say, I only felt a contact. Marc, however, admitted the error and immediately came to apologise. The triceps and the elbow very swollen and I hope to get back on track tomorrow."
