MotoGP rookie Eugene Laverty faces another tough challenge this weekend as the Northern Irishman tackles the Termas de Rio Hondo circuit for the first time in Argentina.

The Power Electronics Aspar Honda rider narrowly finished outside the points in Austin as he competed at the Circuit of the Americas for the first time and Laverty is preparing to embark on another learning curve this weekend.

"Austin was quite a difficult track to learn but I adapted quickly and that gives me confidence going to Argentina," said the 28-year-old.

"It is a long journey to Termas de Rio Hondo, so I will have time to watch some videos and start learning my way around before we get there.

"Austin was a tough circuit for the characteristics of our bike but Argentina looks more like Phillip Island and I think that could benefit us," he added.

"We will work hard from Friday to adapt and learn it as quickly as possible."
