Marc Marquez is aiming for a quick-fire double in this weekend's penultimate round of the MotoGP World Championship at Sepang in Malaysia.

The outgoing world champion won an incredible premier class race on the Repsol Honda at Phillip Island in Australia, eradicating Jorge Lorenzo's advantage of 0.8 seconds on the final lap of the race to pounce for a dramatic victory.

The pulsating four-way battle, which also involved championship leader Valentino Rossi and Ducati's Andrea Iannone, has gone down as one of the best MotoGP races of the decade and with Movistar Yamaha team-mates Rossi and Lorenzo separated only by 11 points with two rounds to go, Sepang is braced for another tense showpiece this weekend.

Marquez, third in the standings, could have a big say in the eventual outcome of the title and won previously in MotoGP at Sepang last year.

"After a wonderful victory in Australia we are on our way to Malaysia and hoping to continue this good run for Honda, and end the season on a high," Marquez said.

"We do a lot of testing at Sepang and it's a circuit I enjoy and where our bike tends to work well.

"As always, getting the best setup is key especially in the braking so we will have to work hard on Friday and Saturday to prepare for the race."
