Reigning Moto2 world champion Johann Zarco completed the official Jerez test in an uncharacteristic 14th on the combined time sheets.

Zarco participated in just one of Friday's final three sessions after fog and low track temperatures prevented riders from undertaking the first run of the day in the morning.

The Frenchman's best overall lap of 1m 42.952s set on the first day of the test on Wednesday is 1.2 seconds outside Axel Pons' benchmark (Team AGR Kalex).

Zarco, who clocked the 12th quickest lap during Friday's session, admitted that he was unable to achieve the pace he had hoped for because he hasn't felt comfortable enough on the Ajo Motorsport Kalex to really push for a fast time.

"After three days it is a pity that I could not go as fast as I wanted to here. I have not had a good enough feeling to push harder," he said.

"We have been trying many set-ups and I think we have the right one with which to go fast, but I haven't shown that this week.

"It's not a big drama, because with used tyres I am still very consistent and running a similar pace to my rivals; however, with the new rubber we haven't been able to improve the lap times," added Zarco.

"That's why I'm a little disappointed, but for now we don't want to overreach and make a mistake before Qatar, which is where we will have the final test and the first race.

"Next week is all about working hard and getting strong for the start of the season."
