Top satellite MotoGP rider Pol Espargaro found a change to the suspension on his M1 produced big results during Monday's post-race test at Jerez.

The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 rider, who lowered his lap time by 1.5s relative to Sunday's race for ninth place (+0.629s) on the test timesheets, revealed:

"It was [related] to the suspension. We didn't have so much grip on the rear during the weekend and we improved it so much.

"I'm really happy because suddenly when we test one piece on the bike everything change so much, especially with used tyres. When we tried it I improved the lap time with a used tyre, with 10 laps on the tyre.

"So this means the steps we have made with this piece was very good."

Espargaro's early season consistency has been rewarded with fifth in the world championship heading into Tech 3's home event at Le Mans.
