Honda Racing Corporation has announced that they will produce an evolution 250cc racing machine in 2002, together with the existing RS250R.

The new machine, named RS250R-W, will be developed during the 2002 World Championship, with the help of a rider chosen by Honda.

During the season Honda will then make available RS250R-W chassis and engine parts to other Honda riders, according to their race results.

Currently, Daijiro Katoh leads the 250cc World Championship on his Telefonica MoviStar Honda, in a class dominated, in numbers, by Aprilia.
