The Repsol YPF Yamaha d'Ant?n are at the circuit of Valencia this weekend continuing their preseason testing programme, which began at Almeria at the beginning of the week. Alex Criville and Norick Abe set good lap times in Fridays session giving the team reason to be optimistic for the second day of testing.

Criville concentrated on finding a good setting for the bike suspension and managed to set a lap time of 1min 36.3secs. 'My impressions of the bike after the first day of testing here in Valencia have not changed,' Criville told the official MotoGP website. 'It's a bike that I like and that I'm adapting easily to. We already have references to work from at this circuit and we are beginning to find our direction. I've been able to complete many laps at a constant rhythm and everything is going as I had hoped.'

Abe went a fraction faster with a time of 1min 35.5seconds. 'I set my best lap quite easily.' He said. 'I like this year's machine. The Yamaha technicians have made it a lot better with respect to last year, so on Saturday I hope to go even faster.'

Team Manager Luis d'Ant?n was also happy with the work of his squad: 'Everything is going as we had planned. Both Alex and Norick are setting a good rhythm and are capable of lapping quickly and consistently. They are both happy with the motorcycles, so the important thing is that they complete this phase of adaptation and then direct their work more towards the set-up of the bike.'
