Kenny Roberts Sr, Team Owner of the Proton KR team is preparing to take drastic action in his quest to get his riders, Jeremy McWilliams and Nobu Aoki, the race results they deserve.

"I know what I have to do ... buy the (Phillip Island) track and redesign it without the straight. Then we'd be winning," joked the multi world champion, whose riders qualified first and third on the grid.

King Kenny then revealed an even more drastic explanation as to why the KR3 two-stroke, which will be scrapped at the end of the season in favour of an all-new V5 four stroke, has been performing so well in recent races.

"I've figured it out now: it's like when you have a really old dog and you have to take her to the vet to be put down ... and in the car she gets real frisky. That's what our bike is doing right now!" deduced Roberts.
