Fabio Quartararo has been stripped of victory in Sunday's Japanese Moto2 race, after being disqualified for having a rear tyre pressure 'lower than the parameters advised by the Official Supplier' during post-race checks.

The decision means that Francesco Bagnaia now takes victory and extends his title advantage to 37-points over Miguel Oliveira, who is promoted to the final place on the podium behind Lorenzo Baldassarri.

Quartararo, joining MotoGP next season with Sepang Yamaha, looked to have claimed his second grand prix victory in style, taking the lead on lap 3 and withstanding constant pressure from Bagnaia.

The result would also have been the second win and third podium of the year for Speed Up.

The last time a Moto2 rider lost a race victory due to a technical infringement was Dominique Aegerter's disqualification from Misano 2017 due to use of an oil outside of the Moto2 specifications.
