After scoring his first Moto2 points of the European season with ninth at Mugello, Sam Lowes heads to Barcelona aiming to use an 'excellent' test at the circuit as a further springboard to 'where we’d like to be'.

Last month's Catalunya test saw the Gresini Kalex rider rack up 200 laps over two-days, meaning plenty of set-up data to start the weekend.

“We had an excellent test and we’re arriving in Barcelona with fresh confidence, thanks to a good race in Mugello," said the Englishman, who has a best finish of sixth so far this season.

"It’s clear we’re still not where we’d like to be: the goal is to among the leaders and battle for the podium each time.

"The team is working extremely well and now it’s time for pay all these efforts back with a great result.”

Lowes, 13th in the world championship, has a best Catalunya finish of fourth, in 2015.
