Just the single perfect 10 score appears from the Austrian MotoGP but plenty of impressive marks from some surprise candidates which created a dramatic race weekend at the Red Bull Ring.

With Andrea Dovizioso claiming an emotional victory, his first win since the 2019 opener in Qatar, he keeps his MotoGP world title hopes alive against Marc Marquez who was forced into second place for a third consecutive year in Austria.

Encouraging signs continued in the Yamaha camp with Fabio Quartararo impressing with a third podium in his rookie MotoGP campaign finishing ahead of factory duo Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales.

Meanwhile, it was another race to forget for Danilo Petrucci who has struggled since returning from the summer break as Suzuki’s Alex Rins closed the gap on the Italian rider battling for third place in the standings.

MotoGP takes a weekend off after back-to-back events and returns to action at Silverstone for the British round on August 23-25 for round 12 of the 2019 campaign.
