Andrea Dovizioso extended his lead in the 125cc world championship with his second win from the first three races at today's French Grand Prix, at Le Mans.

Dovizioso rode with a maturity beyond his teenage years as he stalked veteran pace setter Roberto Locatelli until the very last lap, declining several invitations to take the lead only to stun his compatriot with a decisive attack in the final few corners.

Locatelli settled for second place in the race and lies second in the championship, fifteen points behind Dovizioso but thirteen ahead of Casey Stoner, who battled through a shoulder injury to take eighth today.

Spanish rider Jorge Lorenzo clinched the final podium spot after escaping from Mirko Giansanti and Hector Barbera with a determined ride.

Andrea Dovizioso - 1st: "I'm very, very happy. I overtook Roberto midway through the last lap even though I knew he could pass me back on the final corner. However, I made a mistake on the final corner and it was because of that that Roberto couldn't pass."

Roberto Locatelli - 2nd: "I looked back at Andrea with two or three laps to go and was asking him if he wanted to follow me or to lead. He didn't want to lead so I kept pushing but Andrea passed me on the last lap. I tried to attack at the last corner but it wasn't possible as Andrea made a small error and came across onto my line."

Jorge Lorenzo - 3rd: "It wasn't possible to stay with the top two because Locatelli was setting a very, very fast pace and their bikes are a little better than mine, but I'm happy."
