Reigning world champion Marc Marquez has the first of four chances to wrap-up the 2014 MotoGP title this weekend.
The Repsol Honda star - 75 points ahead of Dani Pedrosa and 78 ahead of Valentino Rossi - will be champion if he finishes Sunday's race with an advantage of at least 75 points over his nearest rival.
Marquez fell early in the morning session after an apparent braking issue, forcing a switch to his spare bike.
