Currently 13th in the Cup standings and one spot out of the Chase, David Reutimann has a clear idea of what it will take to qualify for NASCAR's playoffs - and it starts Aug. 9 at Watkins Glen.

Hardly a road-course specialist, Reutimann finished 33rd in his Cup debut at the Glen last year. In order to challenge for the Chase, he knows he'll have to improve on that result.

Asked what he felt was most important over the last six races before the Chase, Reutimann didn't hesitate.

"A decent finish at Watkins Glen definitely comes to mind, because I just haven't been historically a road-course guy," Reutimann said. "At Sonoma (where he ran 31st in June) we actually would've had a pretty decent race, and we would've finished in the neighbourhood of 20th or 22nd - which obviously is not a great day, but for me, on a road course, it would've been a drastic improvement - and we just got tangled up in a deal right there towards the end.

"The one thing that sticks out in my mind for a racetrack that could be a struggle for us is going to be Watkins Glen."
