Okay, so this year's NASCAR Sprint Cup championship was never going to be able to match the stunning cliffhanger of 2011 - in which Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards finished dead level on points and the title went to Stewart on a 'most wins' tie-break. But 2012 did succeed in delivering to us a new generation of NASCAR champion, after Jimmie Johnson's efforts to win a sixth title were thwarted by 28-year-old Brad Keselowski.

The social media-obsessed Keselowski first made a stir in 2012 when he tweeted pictures from the cockpit of his #2 Penske Dodge of Juan Montoya's fiery encounter with a jet dryer at Daytona in February, while still out on the track after the race was halted under a red flag. But Keselowski also had what it took to star in the thick of the racing action as well, and as the season went on he emerged as the surprising lead contender for the championship heading into the finale at Homestead-Miami last month.

Perhaps winning the championship says it all and you'll make Brad Keselowski your Crash.net NASCAR Driver of the Year? Or how about runner-up Clint Bowyer, or five-time champion Jimmie Johnson who came so close to making it six if it hadn't been for issues beyond his control in the final two races of the season? Or maybe Denny Hamlin who went to victory road five times in 2012, or Kasey Kahne in his first season with Hendrick Motorsports? Or Kahne's HMS team mate Jeff Gordon, who made such a, uh, impact on Bowyer in the race at Phoenix before going on to win the season finale at Homestead?

Here's your chance to let us know what you think of each of the top 20 drivers in 2012 who either made it into the Chase or won a pole position or race along the way - which includes the likes of Juan Montoya, eternally youthful veteran Mark Martin, and Richard Petty Motorsports team mates Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola. Will your vote go to one of these outsiders, or will you stick with the 12 Chase contenders? The choice is yours!

All you have to do is let us know today, and we'll get back to you later in the month once voting is completed to unveil which of the 20 has won our prestigious title of NASCAR Driver of the Year for 2012.
