Persistent rains have postponed today’s Gander RV 400 at the Dover International Raceway race to Monday at noon.

Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series officials worked feverishly to dry the 1.0-mile oval and the engines fired around 4pm local time. Rains returned during the parade laps and forced the postponement for the 400-lap event.

Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and William Byron will lead the field to the green flag.

Martin Truex, Jr., Alex Bowman, Ryan Preece and Matt Tifft were penalized for failing pre-race inspection multiple times and will start from the rear of the field. Truex and Bowman both lose their race engineers for the race while Preece had his car chief ejected.

Tifft failed inspection four times and will lose his race engineer and will make pass-through penalty after the green flag.

The race will air on Fox Sports 1.
