Persistent rains have delayed the Firekeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway to Monday evening at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Rainfall throughout the morning drenched the 2.0-mile superspeedway and initially pushed the start past its scheduled 2 pm time. Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series officials dried the track but the rains returned during the parade laps and ultimately postponed the 200-lap race.

Team Penske's Joey Logano will take the green flag from the pole alongside fellow Ford driver Aric Almirola. Almirola's Stewart Haas Racing teammate Clint Bowyer will attempt to defend his June Michigan crown from fifth place.

Points leader and 2011 Michigan winner Kyle Busch will start 15th.
