Shaun Gallagher will compete on Wales Rally GB in November as reward for his record breaking win in the 2003 Peugeot 206 Super Cup.

His prize comes after three years of competing in Peugeots one make rally championships.

Starting as a Peugeot challenge newcomer in 2001, he cut his teeth in the Super 106 Cup and learnt a great deal in a season that was as hard fought as any previous year. 2002 saw a change to the now familiar 206 and the battle was decided by 0.9 second, leaving the 21 year old runner up by the narrowest of margins.

2003 was the Letterkenny mans year, starting the season with a win. He added a further three first places to leave his rivals fighting for second on the last rally where he stamped his authority despite not needing the points.

He will have regular co-driver Richard Pashley alongside him for the Cardiff based event and although this will be the biggest and highest profile event Gallagher will have contested, it will be Richards fifth time on the final round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

The rally starts in Cardiff on Thursday 6th November and uses the now traditional Super Special stage and some of south Wales finest traditional forest stages totalling nearly 380 competitive miles.
