2003 British Peugeot 206 Cup champion, Shaun Gallagher, will compete on Wales Rally GB in November in his own 206 Super Cup specification car.

The decision to run his own car rather than his prize car, the 206 S1600, was taken following discussions with Peugeot Sport UK. It was agreed that further support would be given to Gallagher to assist him with his 2004 Peugeot based programme.

The Motorsport Ireland Billy Coleman Award Winner will have regular co-driver Richard Pashley with him for the event. Pashley has competed in the event four times previously and will be a valuable asset to Gallagher during the rally.

Gallagher drove his 206 Super Cup car today [Friday] in preparation for the rally and announced himself pleased with the shakedown.

"The car has served me extremely well all year so this was a chance for a refresher and to set the car up for the Welsh forests," he commented, "The decision to use my car in no way detracts from Peugeot Sports commitment. My plans for 2004 are not finalised but as long as I'm driving a Peugeot, I'm delighted the offer of assistance is still there."

The event begins in Cardiff on Thursday 6th November and will move into the famous Welsh forests early Friday morning. The rally consists of eighteen stages and over four hundred kilometres of stage miles.
