Tony Green and co-driver Bill Robertson will be putting more competitive miles on the clock in their Subaru Impreza this coming Saturday in south Wales on the Swansea Model Centre Red Dragon Rally 2005.

Following their second-place overall on the Gwynedd Rally three weeks ago, the Motorpoint-backed Bourne 2 Rally team is hoping to consolidate this encouraging start with the new car by achieving a good result in the Welsh forests.

The Red Dragon Rally has its HQ in Swansea and includes 45 stage miles through the Rheola, Resolven and Rhondda Forests; names well known through their association with Wales Rally GB, the British round of the World Rally Championship. Completing these stages will be a useful learning experience for Green as he will get to drive on roads used at WRC level, including the famous twisty section by the lake at Walter's Arena.

In the run-up to the event, he said he feels happy to be 'in a better position than we've ever been before, with no car hassles'.

However, although he admits to being 'massively excited' at the prospect of more time in the Impreza, he is looking at the event as more of a knowledge-builder than an opportunity to set top times. The aim is to 'be smooth and drive at 7/10ths consistently right the way through from the first stage through to the last stage, and just see what the results bring from that'.

The main target for the team at this point is to get a solid finish inside the top 20 runners.
