Guy Wilks has said that he is feeling more determined than ever now heading into the Wales Rally GB, the final event in the 2008 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship.

Wilks was reinstated as the winner of September's International Rally Yorkshire last week, after Mitsubishi's appeal was upheld by the MSA and he now subsequently goes to Wales right in the thick of a three-way battle to win the 2008 BRC drivers' title.

Speaking prior to the event, which is actually a points scoring double header for the BRC boys, the Englishman was clearly in a buoyant mood, especially as Mitsubishi had made no secret that it would have withdrawn both its cars from GB had the hearing on Wednesday November 26 not gone in its favour.

"It is great news to know that I've got my Yorkshire win back and therefore still be in with a shot at the championship," said Wilks.

"I am now really looking forward to Rally GB and I am more determined than ever to bring back the title, not just for me but for the team, as it has been a difficult few weeks for them as well. Bring it on!"

Mitsubishi UK team boss Paul Brigden meanwhile is also eager to see his team retain both the BRC drivers' and teams' titles.

"Naturally we were delighted with the outcome of the hearing [last week]," he added. "We build our cars in accordance to the rules and the decision by the MSC [Motor Sports Council] confirms this.

"Victory in both the British Team's and Driver's Championships is an important accolade for Mitsubishi and our focus now will be well and truly on achieving this goal. The whole team is ready and looking forward to the challenge. It's going to be a really exciting finale for us all."
