Flying Kiwi Bruce Anstey finally earned a breakthrough Superbike victory at the Isle of Man TT on Clive Padgett's Honda Fireblade and added another major international triumph in the feature race at the Ulster Grand Prix.

Anstey held off Ian Hutchinson to claim his maiden success in the blue riband class on the Mountain Course by almost 11 seconds as he set a new race record to seal his 10th TT triumph on the legendary Mountain Course.

The New Zealander also twice finished as the runner-up in the Supersport TT races behind Hutchinson to maintain his extraordinary record of podium finishes at the 'big three' road races and took the runner-up spot on the Mugen machine behind team-mate John McGuinness in the TT Zero event.

At the Ulster Grand Prix, Anstey won the feature Superbike race following a frenetic battle with Hutchinson around the fastest road racing course in the world at Dundrod as he continues to shine at the top level in the sport, despite entering the twilight years of his career.

The unassuming Kiwi, who remains the outright lap record holder at Dundrod and had the honour of being the fastest man ever to lap the TT course until his benchmark was eclipsed in June in a record-breaking Senior race, began the year with a third place in the Superbike race at the North West 200, which set the tone for the remainder of the season.

Anstey shows no signs of slowing down and few would be against him adding more international wins to his record in 2016, when he is set to continue his ultra-successful association with the Batley-based Padgetts team.
