Guy Martin will return to the Cookstown 100 in April, the organisers of the National meeting have confirmed.

The new Honda Racing signing will compete in both Superbike races on a Superstock-spec CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2 at the Orritor course in Northern Ireland from April 28-29, where he was a double winner in the features races on his last appearance in 2015.

Martin, who has committed to a full road racing comeback this year following a serious tumble at the Ulster Grand Prix in 2015, has been a regular at the Cookstown meeting in the past when he rode for former team TAS Racing.

The 35-year-old needs to ride in six races in order to gain his licence to enable him to compete at the Isle of Man TT.

Martin forms a dream line-up for the official Honda Racing squad in 2017 and is due to contest the North West 200, TT, Southern 100, Armoy and Ulster Grand Prix meetings. He has also been linked with a return to the Tandragee 100 meeting, which takes place from April 21-22.
