Michael Rutter will compete in the Supertwins races at the North West 200 in the IEG/KMR Kawasaki team as a replacement for Hudson Kennaugh.

South African rider Kennaugh was due to ride for Ryan Farquhar's team in the class plus the Superbike and Superstock races, but has been confirmed as a late withdrawal.

Farquhar said: "Hudson rang me and said he wasn't racing at the North West so we have sorted a deal for Michael Rutter to ride the bike. Michael was on the podium on one of my bikes at the 2012 North West and he rode for me at last year's TT as well.

"I have put a big effort into the bikes for this year. I want them to be as competitive as possible and we will have a test at Kirkistown next week before the North West."

Rutter is among the favourites on the Bathams/SMT BMW machines in the Superbike and Superstock races and has secured a Supersport ride on a Yamaha R6, which is being provided by former racer Stephen Thompson.

Lee Johnston will also ride for the IEK/KMR Kawasaki team in the Supertwin races at the North West, with his ER6 painted in the colours of the NI Air Ambulance.
