The 2019 Isle of Man TT is battling against weather conditions as rain has forced the cancellation of Thursday’s afternoon qualifying session.

Following a washout on Wednesday, a revised schedule lined up two qualifying sessions on Thursday to make up for lost time but with the rain and wet conditions returning the afternoon session has been canned.

The initial evening qualifying session remains in place with all roads closing to the public at 18:00 local time and the action is set to get underway at 18:20 with the Superbike, Superstock and Newcomers qualifying session.

Gary Thompson, Isle of Man TT Clerk of the Course, confirmed the afternoon qualifying session has been called off because of poor visibility and weather conditions but remains cautiously optimistic the evening session can stick to the schedule.
