Trelawny came close to gaining their fourth away win of the season in the Premier League when they lost in a last heat decider at Newport on Sunday afternoon. The JAG Tigers took a four-point lead into the final four faces but Newport hit back with two successive 5-1 heat wins which gave the Wasps a four-point advantage going into the final heat.

Craig Watson and Niels-Kristian Iversen made the gate against Trelawny's Chris Harris and Matej Zagar. Although Harris battled through to take second place, it left the JAG Tigers with a six-point defeat.

The Damerell's Pitbulls will be looking to pull back a 14-point deficit to grab the aggregate bonus point when they meet Buxton in the return Conference Trophy at the Clay Country Moto Parc on Tuesday evening (7.30pm).

The Cornish side will be looking for another significant contribution from 15-year-old reserves Chris Johnson and Ben Barker, who gave excellent support to Simon Walker in Sunday's defeat at Buxton.
