The Oxford Silver Machine Academy lifted themselves to fourth place in the Conference League table after two stunning victories at Sandy Lane last night.

Sheffield were the first team on track and the Academy had the two points in the bag as early as heat eleven. All looked good for the bonus point as well however Sheffield's Richard hall saw to it that the bonus point was going further north after picking up twelve points in the last three heats, thanks to a perfectly executed Golden Double win in the fourteenth. Chris Schramm top scored for Oxford with paid fourteen points.

In the second match it was heat ten when the win was assured and the bonus point was in the bag by heat fourteen. It was left to Craig Branney and Jamie Robertson for the visitors and it looked as though it was going to be another sixty point scoreline for the Academy, however, a maximum heat win the very last kept the scoreline respectable for the Tynesiders.

Ben Barker had the honour of top scoring in this match with paid fourteen. There was bad news for Chris Mills who took a nasty fall in his first outing and withdrew from the rest of the meeting with a suspected collarbone injury.

The Oxford Silver Machine Academy take to the track again next Wednesday, October 8th,2003 when they face the Boston Barracudas.
