The Arena Essex Hammers take on local rivals, the Rye House Rockets, on Friday in a Premier League match at their Purfleet Raceway. This will be the fourth time this season that the two clubs will have met at Purfleet.

The Hammers will be looking to overcome a six point deficit from the away Premier League match at Hoddesdon last month to enable them to claim all three League points available. The win will give them two points with the other point coming from the aggregate win. The local rivalry both on the track and on the terraces is intense and both teams will be going all out for the win.

The Hammers are expecting to be at full strength with their Finn Joonas Kylmakorpi returning to the side following his appearance in the final round of this year's Grand Prix, which took place in Norway last Saturday. In his absence the Hammers have won their last two meetings, away at Somerset and at home last Friday to Swindon.

Rye House have chosen the first option by bringing in Hull's Paul Thorp to cover for the injured Edward Kennett. Brent Werner, Nigel Sadler, Scott Robson, veteran Mark Courtney, Brett Woodifield and skipper David Mason all return and will be determined to atone for their showing here last time.

It's likely to be a tense close encounter on Friday with another exciting evening's racing in prospect for the fans of both sides but the Hammers will be looking to gain the available League points to push them further up the League table. There will be free bags for the kids handed out at the meeting as a thank you to all those children who have supported the Hammers throughout the season.
