The Oxford Silver Machine Academy's unbeaten home run continued in emphatic style last night as they easily disposed of the Boston Braves at Sandy Lane.

Oxford were in control from the very start of the meeting and had once again wrapped up the result by heat ten. All of the team were in fine form with no less than four riders recording maximum points; Joe Cook, Chris Schramm, Chris Johnson and Ben Barker. The win should also ensure that the Silver Machine Academy are able to win the bonus point when they travel to the Norfolk Arena next Friday, October 17th, 2003 for the return leg.

To top off a fine evening's entertainment Joe Cook beat Darren Rolph for the Bronze Helmet. The Academy move to Swindon tonight (Thursday) and then travel to Carmarthen on Sunday afternoon.

Friday sees the biggest meeting of the season for the Elite League side when they face the newly crowned Sky Sports Elite League champions the Poole Pirates in the home leg of the Knockout Cup Semi Final. Despite the large deficit that needs to be made up, Promoter Nigel Wagstaff refuses to conceded defeat

Whatever the result, there will be a party atmosphere with a sponsors Gala evening being held and second half entertainment of sidecars and verteran racing. It could also be the last meeting for Todd Wiltshire in an Oxford race jacket and his large army of fans are expected to turn out in force. Greg Hancock will also receive a heroes welcome after his fantastic Grand Prix win at Hamar last Saturday night.

With a large crowd expected fans are urged to arrive as early as possible and are reminded that there are overflow car parking facilities at Unipart.
