The Arena Hammers finally visited Peterborough last night for their remaining British League Cup match. The result did not count for qualification purposes as the deadline for the completion of the group matches has long past. In fact the first leg of the Final (between Poole and Eastbourne) has already taken place with the second leg scheduled to take place on this evening.

The Hammers, however, had a point to prove as they felt that they should have received a place in the quarter finals of the competition and were determined to gain a win at Peterborough which they did with a superb all-round team performance. The result technically puts the Hammers in top place in their group ahead of Rye House on points difference.

Each Hammer played his part in this victory despite a number of machine problems and proved their point that they should have been included in the draw for the next stages of the competition by actually winning their group.
