Tickets for the FIM Fiat Vans British Speedway Grand Prix, to be held at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on 12 June 2004, go on sale today (6th November) Benfield Sports International (BSI) has announced. The fourth Grand Prix of the 2004 season is the jewel in the crown of the ten round world championship FIM Speedway Grand Prix Series (SGP) and is already the third largest motorsport event in the UK.

As the event and Series continue to go from strength to strength, a number of new initiatives have been introduced for the Cardiff event as John Postlethwaite, Chief Executive, Benfield Sports International, rights holder of the Speedway Grand Prix Series explains:

"To a certain extent we have been victims of our own success. The number of people attending the event far exceeds the number of hotel rooms in the Cardiff area and the problem of accommodation is exacerbated by the fact that there are very few trains available after the event on the Saturday night."

"Therefore we have introduced a SGP Coach Service that will operate a return service on the day from 31 towns and cities across the UK so fans from all over the country can get to and from the event without having to worry about how they get home on the night. This can be booked when ordering tickets via the ticket hotline."

"Also new for 2004 is the introduction of 'air horn free zones'. Over the years as the number of spectators has increased so have the decibels! There's no doubt that the huge noise created by the crowd helps to generate the unique atmosphere at the Millennium Stadium, so we have introduced these zones to give people the option of sitting in a 'quieter' area where air horns will be banned."

Postlethwaite concludes: "The past three years has proved the Grand Prix is a great night out for the whole family and to ensure this continues not only have we frozen our lowest priced adult tickets at ?25 but we have also reduced the price of under16's and OAP tickets to ?10 in designated areas."

In addition to the new initiatives, the hugely successful VIP Methanol Club returns. The exclusive hospitality package - launched last year and subsequently sold out four months prior to the event - this year offers an improved package with the addition of new features including: photo memento; lucky prize draws; earlier entry to the stadium and further 'behind the scenes' insights.
