The Oxford Silver Machine have made their first signing for the 2004 Elite League campaign. The first rider to put pen to paper, already an asset of the club, is Niels Kristian Iversen.

Iversen spent his first season in British Speedway on loan to Premier League club Newport, where he was one of the finds of last season, and received many plaudits during his debut year. He is Danish and was a part of the Danish League Championship side Holsted and he also made his World Team Cup debut last year, at his home track!

With the new grading system, Iversen is a grade two rider and is likely to start the year in the main body of the team. Nigel Wagstaff made the announcement during a well attended SOS quiz night on Saturday and although he remained tight lipped about further team plans he did confirm that he had spoken with several riders including last years number one Greg Hancock.
