The Oxford Silver Machine will attempt to take part in only their second meeting of the season when they make the short trip to Coventry tonight in what should have been the return of the opening season challenge.

Oxford have so far only been able to compete in one meeting, away at Poole last Wednesday and are desperate for some match practice before the serious stuff starts on Friday evening with the first round of the Knockout Cup. Oxford have been further hit with the loss of Rafal Dobrucki who was injured riding in a meeting in Poland on Sunday afternoon.

Dobrucki's place will be covered by Rider Replacement at Coventry tonight as it is a challenge fixture. That will mean that Niels Kristian-Iversen will move to the number seven position and that Dobrucki will officially line up at number four.

Coventry have a young and exciting side, led by Swedish International Andreas Jonsson, and include two of the hottest prospects in the world of speedway, namely American Brian Yarrow and Dane Morten Risager. Added to the young Brits Jason Bunyan and Stuart Robson it shows that the Bees side are very similar to Oxford in that it is packed full of potential.

Clashes between the two clubs are also fiery affairs and with two teams packed full of young up and coming riders, the meeting is bound to provide the usual fireworks and will give the team a good run out ahead of the first home meeting of the season on Friday when the Silver Machine face the Arena Essex Hammers in Knockout Cup action.
