The Oxford Silver Machine just missed out in an enthralling last heat decider at Arlington last night, but it was an impressive and gutsy performance from the Silver Machine who are still missing influential Pole Sebastian Ulamek.

It looked as though the Silver Machine were going to carry on where they left off last week and at one point were eight points up. However, Eastbourne made the most of their tactical options and grabbed the final one point win in a thrilling last heat decider where Ryan Fisher put the World Champion Nicki Pedersen under immense pressure before finally falling on the final bend.

Top scorer for Oxford was Greg Hancock who suffered only one defeat all night on his way to paid fourteen points. There was also an excellent performance for Ryan Fisher at reserve, with paid twelve points.

Oxford did pick up the bonus point however, which cements their third position in the current league table. With Wolverhampton losing at home for the third time this season it also means that the gap between the two sides has been narrowed to just four points, making Friday's match against the Wolves even more important.

A hero's welcome is also planned for British Grand Prix Champion Greg Hancock and further details will be released later in the week.
